Musqueam Gallery Public Opening

Be the first to visit the newly opened Musqueam Cultural Centre Gallery - now hosting the traveling exhibition Baskets for Barter. See the incredible detail and artistry behind the creation of traditional cedar containers and clothing. The exhibition includes pieces that are 3,500 thousand years old to contemporary pieces from local artists.

Come learn about the trade and sale of cedar work over time.

Open to the public, yəʔe:y̓aqtəl̕ tə sitən: Baskets for Barter runs from July 6, 2013 to February 28, 2014.

Self-guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the assistance of the Reciprocal Research Network (RRN) kiosk and mobile app.

Guided tours by appointment Monday to Thursday. The tour includes an in-depth tour of our new state-of-the-art Cultural Education Resource Centre. and the Museum Gallery space where many of our cultural heritage treasures are held. As well, this new facility houses authentic public art installations created by local Musqueam carvers, weavers, painters, and more.
