Acknowledgement Ceremony

Musqueam Chief and Council presented commendations to seven recipients at an Acknowledgement Ceremony on January 21, 2013. The recipients reached out at a time of crisis to come to the aid of two young women (Musqueam Member & Sts’ailes Member).

Their actions reflect the highest standards of courage, self-reliance, loyalty and commitment that exemplify and perpetuate the history of those tasked with protecting the Musqueam Nation.

Councillor Cheryl Charlie on behalf of Chief Willie Charlie and the Sts’ailes Council and Community presented a plaque to Musqueam Chief & Council and the recipients. The plaque reads:

“In recognition and appreciate for your demonstration of “Idle No More” effort in putting your own safety before community members on October 19, 2012 and for taking community responsibility when witnessing injustices. Your example is a legacy to the family members concerned and many others”.
