Nature Vancouver will hold the annual Vancouver Christmas Bird Count on Sunday December 14, 2014. The Christmas Bird Count takes place in over 2000 locations across Canada, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. These bird observations, collected during the one-day field counts, have been amassed into a huge database that reflects the distribution and number of winter birds over time. The count is coordinated by a partnership between the National Audubon Society and Bird Studies Canada, and provides valuable data for scientists and naturalists.

Nature Vancouver will be doing the count between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. There will be about 10 people on the survey team. The count will be conducted with as little disturbance as possible and a summary of the results will be sent to the community.
